The youngest member of the CFV coaching family, Freddie has dabbled with strength training since his early teens whilst playing rugby at school. However, he only started to apply it effectively when training to be a ski instructor in 2009. Unfortunately, dislocating his shoulder caused a long lay-off in training and Freddie became massively out of shape, even being unable to manage relatively simple exercises like push-ups on his knees.
After just four months later and losing a significant amount of weight, he was once again comfortable with push-ups and had even managed his first pull-ups. Freddie found out about CrossFit Central London (CFV’s sister box) when a professional rugby player mentioned their training session there; he decided to drop by and has been a part of the gym ever since.
Freddie has developed hugely since joining CFV, and his focus has shifted towards strength training and powerlifting. He’s also been lucky enough to attend seminars with some of the best powerlifters in the world including Dan Green, Chad Wesley Smith and Brandon Lily. Being able to use his own experience of rebuilding strength, fitness and confidence makes him a sympathetic and inspiring coach.
Since being at CFV, he has also started studying towards a M.Ost, Masters in Osteopathy at the BSO and has qualified as a sports massage therapist.
